Back in the twenty-first century, Albert came to Earth and took a human woman to be his companion. Now he has come to take another. He finds that Earth is being evacuated so he transports into the President's office and offers his assistance. The President says that a geothermal power plant at a super volcano received nuclear strikes during the wars resulting in weakening of the caldera. Now that volcano is threatening to erupt, so both countries have been building additional cities on Earth's moon and Mars and evacuating to those cities. Albert says he requires payment in exchange for his services. When he is ready to return home, he must be allowed to take a human woman to be his companion. The President asks Albert if he would take everyone on his ship to the next solar system where they can rebuild their civilization. Albert says yes so the President agrees to his terms. A New World is the third book in the Companion series.
