She woke and listened. There it was again!, The soft whirring of her washing machine downstairs, in the kitchen, forced her to wake from her dream, and leave Richard Gere, on the sun-kissed beach, holding two cocktails. In the distant past, she would nudge her husband, but those days were long gone. He disappeared, 5 years ago, from a gas platform in the nearby North Sea. It was not a mystery as the platforms Swedish lady cook also disappeared from her family at the same time. She had to go and sort out the nagging machine. Something told her, all, was not well, a cold shiver ran down her spine. She crept along the darkened hallway and down the first few steps. She held her breath as she peered through the gloom into her kitchen below. The tiny red flashing lights told her it was on it's rinse cyle. Somthing moved on the kitchen floor, there, again? was her back door wide open
