Alcoholism affects the whole family, especially the children, and sometimes an alcoholic parent struggles to pull it together


Annie O'Rourke is nine-years-old, and her dad is in rehab. Due to a greedy rehabs questionable interpretation of a court order, Annie's dad is stuck in long-term treatment. Since the day she was born, Annie and her dad had a special bond. Now she misses him so much, and her mom is more interested in climbing the corporate ladder than spending time with Annie.

Her dad, Michael, had quit drinking until stressful developments triggered a relapse and legal problems. He was then placed under the supervision of the courts and ordered to treatment. At the treatment center, Michael encounters several degenerate addicts (some convicted felons), including psycho, Ralph Jacks, who hates everything that is good, especially Michael.

Annie, along with her brother, six-year-old Tommy, are missing their dad and hoping and praying for his safe return. Michael needs to figure out how to return without violating his court order and ending up in jail. He also needs to stay sober through it all - sober so he can be a father to Annie and Tommy again.
