Welcome to a Sunday sermon, Does it Matter? This sermon addresses this one question providing a book, chapter, and verse answer. This sermon is light on commentary and heavy on Scripture. This lesson does something that I have not done in other lessons of this type. I will not tell you upfront what that something is. Your challenge is to figure out what is unique about this lesson. Today, political correctness invades the thinking of many religious people, perhaps most religious people. I would venture a guess that most people believe that all "good" people go to heaven. Unfortunately, no one agrees on the definition of "good people." I think the common definition of "good" is that person A loves person B, therefore, person B is a "good" person. From this, of course, it follows that almost everyone goes to heaven, but Jesus taught that the way is difficult and narrow and that few people would find it (Mt. 7:13-14). I am glad I am not the judge. I am glad that God handles the judging. I do not wish anyone any harm. I do not want anyone to perish. I wish there was a way that everyone could go to heaven and be together and happy ever more. We could make up our own religion to accommodate that desire, but that would not stand up in the court of God. Or, we could surrender to the bible and follow the Scriptures that have stood the test of time. Each person must make his or her choice. In this lesson, I teach that we should choose the Scripture way. That is how to be a Christian in a diverse culture. The Scriptures do not teach that all "good" people go to heaven. All roads do not lead to heaven. There is a way that leads to heaven, but all roads do not lead to heaven. To put it in another way, there is true doctrine and there is false doctrine. There are good teachers and there are false teachers. While you and I do not want anyone to perish, the fact remains that not everyone goes to heaven. Let's look at a few verses and along the way I will encourage you to simply follow the Bible.
