This is a commentary on the Book of Revelation. The author tried to understand this New Testament book of prophecy as it would have been understood by the angels who originally received its message. As much as possible, Raines sought to avoid history that the original readers of the revelation may not have had at their disposal. As a result of this approach, the readers of this commentary may find a non-traditional reading of the visions as they were unfolded to John on the island of Patmos.
