Ride the Storms is the narrative of Rich Levy's personal travelogues, an intertwined pathway of magical journeys and hellish nightmares. After hitchhiking 30,000 miles in North America and working as a commercial halibut fisherman in Kodiak in his twenties, Rich overcame repeated rejections at the entry gate to reach the highest levels on the frontiers of medical science. Those exhilarating travel and professional experiences, however, did not protect him from being savaged by the grotesque physical trauma of being crushed by an out-of-control, big-rig truck, nor from the inner demons of mental illness that nearly killed his beloved wife of thirty years. With tireless efforts, a relentless will to succeed, and perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds, those seemingly insurmountable obstacles have been overcome. Rich's message for others dealing with adversity is that they should always give their best effort, no matter how bleak the circumstance may appear.
