He received a B. S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M. S. in Systems Engineering from West Coast University. He taught part-time at Xavier University, University of Cincinnati, Miami University, and the College of Mount Saint Joseph, while working full-time in the information systems industry including positions at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas; the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California; and Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio.
