He has taught in Jamaica, Nigeria and Barbardos and is currently at the Centre for West African Studies, University of Birmingham. He edited "Caribbean New Wave" and "Caribbean New Voices I" and co-edited "Voiceprint, Caribbean Poetry Now" and "The Heinemann Book of Caribbean Poetry". He is a poet in his own right with "Zinder" and "Lugard's Bridge". Peepal Tree will publish his new collection, "Elsewhere", in 1998.
