A small Northern Scottish girl peers out through a gap in her blacked out bedroom window at the twinkling night sky above. She can't remember when the streets were last lit up at night and a whole bar of chocolate is a distant, wonderful memory. But mostly, this dark war took her Father away to fight far away in France. She misses him deeply, but her light in all this darkness is her maternal Grandfather, who tells her wonderful stories of his adventures on his flying bicycle in the night sky, where he'd clean the stars and stop by on the moon for a rest. But now she was 8 she began to wonder if his stories could possibly be true. One night she decides to follow him down town and find out for herself. What follows is a magical adventure, where she discovers the truly wonderful, important and eternal secrets the stars hold, but also of the sadness of bullying and the deep sorrows that war can bring. In all of the darkness can she possibly keep the secrets of the stars to herself?
