This book stems from an assignment that I gave to two separate college classes: In my Hawaii Pacific University's cross-cultural diversity class, students could volunteer to write thank you letters to those individuals of a different culture from their own and explain why they made a difference in their lives. Central Michigan's Ced 555 Human Relations course provides graduate students within the Master of Science in Administration degree program with an introduction to the skills utilized in developing helping relationships. The class is experiential in nature and emphasizes day-to-day, person-to-person relationships. Within this class in order to develop an appreciation of another's kindness, and the importance of interpersonal communication skills, a thank you letter writing assignment was assigned.
