The year is 2309. The half billion remaining humans who are known live restricted to the European continent, and 24th century New Europe is divided, to reflect the two subspecies of human which are recognised at this time. The two subspecies have founded their own societies which are generally believed to be incompatible with each other. Despite this, the state of Sin is one of the places in the world where they really try to mix. One morning, several cities and towns in Sin found themselves covered with posters, inviting "all people who seek and believe in unconditional love" to meet one evening on a hill. Twenty people attended, and throughout the course of the evening, seven of them took turns in telling their stories which brought them to seek such a thing. And not one of these people left the hill at any moment during the stories, even if they were facing their own shadows being laid out right before their eyes.
