A native of India, author Hussain S. Shaffi attributes much of the subcontinent's unique style and and beauty to its long history of blending different races and cultures. He reminds readers that under Muslim rule, kings built some of the most beautiful forts, gardens, mosques, and mausoleum, including the Taj Mahal, which still stand today as symbols of beauty, love, harmony and heritage. It was the combined efforts of the Muslims and the Hindus that created a society that should be proud of its many achievements, but instead, thousands of lives have been needlessly lost due to the immense hatred and animosity that exists today between the Hindus and the Muslims.
