When Kenya gained independence from its colonial masters in 1963, it aspired to attain inclusive and sustainable growth by fighting poverty, illiteracy, and disease. While the nation has made progress in economic growth, the journey has not been easy. Kenya's growth has been intermittent, and the benefits disproportionately distributed across the various demographics.

This book is a tri-view of the past, present and future of Kenya's development journey. It looks back at Kenya's past development and that of other countries with a similar economic base in the 1960s and highlights key success factors for realising sustainable and inclusive growth. Using the International Futures (IFs) forecasting model, it then looks forward to the next couple of decades and highlights high leverage policy interventions that the country can use to attain sustained and shared growth.
