Charles Wesley Alexander (1837-1927), was an American author who wrote under the pseudonym Wesley Bradshaw. He wrote many popular novels about the Civil War, shipwrecks, and events in American life, which though popular in their day have been long forgotten about. His works include: Pauline of the Potomac; or, General McClellan's Spy (1862), The Picket Slayer (1863), Maud of the Mississippi (1863), The Volunteer's Roll of Honor (1863), Washington's Vision (1864), The Angel of the Battlefield (1865), General Sherman's Indian Spy (1865), Brigham Young's Daughter (1870), Poor Lizzie Lee (1872), Carrie Clancy (1873), Mattie Stephenson (1873) and Angel Agnes; or, The Heroine of the Yellow Fever Plague in Shreveport (1873).
