Their story is flavored by colorful, often humorous,characters who share in the dread of a muddy road.¿ The muddy road is symbolic to situations ofsuspense, romance, humor, horse rustling, kidnapping, life-threateninginjuries, terror, tragedy, passion, woe, and triumph.¿ While coping with the situations, Clydisbecomes indispensable in the community, but her friendship leads to acompromising situation at the little farm on Jericho.
