A fifty year old bachelor heads for the beach for a singles weekend, and what ensues is the realization of those daydreams that teenaged boys of his generation engaged in when classes got boring. He is dogged from the start by an apparent international conspiracy that thinks he knows more than he does. They try to seduce him with beautiful women, intimidate him with tough guys, and deceive him with spies. He defies them with his wits and sheer luck. They don't believe he doesn't know what they think he knows, and he soon realizes that they are not telling him the truth, and that they are not what they seem to be. (Are they ever?) For if they were a powerful international conspiracy, he would be dead, and they would have gotten what they were looking for.
