Far too many people have come to believe (usually from their own experience), that they are woefully lacking in the skills of thinking creatively. This is understandable as most of us throughout our lives have unknowingly stacked the deck against our creative abilities. In addition, the techniques and skills of creative and original thinking are not natural extensions of the normal thoughts that get us through the day to day, but rather require significantly different ways of seeing the world.
