Suffering from the aftereffects of chronic depression, childhood bouts of bulimia and anorexia, and several devastating losses, Claire seems to prefer the dark world of insanity and even death to a life filled with emotional pain. Only after encountering several quirky strangers, persons to whom society has given little value, is she able to embrace and find meaning in her life.
