My Journal: A Journey Through My Life as a Teenage Schoolgirl and a Young Adult
Jackie Chou
I never thought that I would ever make a living from writing or have a career in writing. But I want to publish my short story and poems because I want my voice to be heard. That doesn't happen in my family. I think very differently from my family, so they never approve of, or encourage, anything I do. I also get no support from my friends. I am different from them in the sense that I wanted to be popular and was all into student organizations in school. They were not into those things. By writing, I am not trying to get people to agree with me. I am just using writing as a medium to vent my feelings and express my views, and that's what you will see in my works.
