In Matthew Whiting's debut novel we are introduced to Sam - a boy who has nothing going for him but an intense love of cooking. When it seems his life has been ruined by the school bully and all is lost, Sam decides he must take a risk and start to rebuild his life. It is only when Sam has a successful restaurant and the support of Maria, the love of his life that Sam must question what is really important in life. This will involve him facing the past and speaking to his long-lost father. He must do this before he risks losing it all.
