The Detective Alaric Bartholomew, a Professor of a Community College who is also a part time investigator helping his childhood buddy, Randy Jabez the County Sheriff, solve the complicated crimes occurring in Bell County. Their problem is discovering how the murders committed in their locality relate to events uncovered on the West Coast, the plane crash, and various unassociated people of areas in-between. The Professor also finds time to become involved with a mature student, a divorcee who has returned to College to complete her education. During the time of the various investigations he assists her by counseling her on matters of her past while they become entangled in a reciprocal romance."
