What would you take? Hello all! I have published my very first children's book, Autumn's Beloved Companions. It is a very simple ABC book, but it involves many literary elements. I hope to publish two more children's books (much more involved) in the near future. One will be titled What is Their Return Policy? - a comical story about sibling rivalry when a baby comes home. The other one is Our Littlest Angel - a story involving the loss of a baby with the daughter trying to ease the mother's pain. Autumn's... involves some of the following literary items: advanced vocabulary, portrayal of friendship, positive traits for multicultural characters, making choices, listing of various foods (some not usually seen), and it is poetic, in nature. The literary elements shown are the following: genre, mood (childlike simplicity), setting, style, theme, alliteration, consonance, point of view, syntax and motif. I am sure there are many more wonderful skills that children (of all ages) can both enjoy and retrieve from this book. Please feel free to check it out!
