In September 1997 Isobel and Rupert bump into each other in the departure lounge at Heathrow and their lives are changed forever. Isobel Campbell is free at last from work, a philandering husband and the emotional ballast of her family and is flying to Venice for a holiday in a city which she's longed to visit. The lives of each member of the family are revealed in a multi-plotted story with many twists and turns. In the process Isobel changes from the wronged wife into a woman who is loved and cherished for herself.
