World, this is Artice D. Upchurch. Yes I know. You don't quite believe his name. It's just too---what? Perfect, cute, poetic, Hollywood, and rap star like. Art-ice Up-Church, Really? In his youth Artice wrote inspirational poems for Long Beach Job Corps, volunteered in hospitals, and planted vegetable gardens in the neighborhood. He inspired and helped many people in the community. Helped distribute food for the hungry. He is a walking around, mystical flower of a man. Welcome to the CYPHER KEY! This is a book based on esoteric poetry. The purpose of these poems is to expand our understanding of Universal principles. There is still light, I want to remind you, there is still some connection between language, love and the light--however hidden--that is in you and in all of us. Something beyond earth is what you're going after. Artice Upchurch has seen the dark night of the soul and offers us his hand to lift us up from the pit.

Emerging Author Shares Collection of Poetry Inspired by Hope
LONG BEACH, Calif. - In his first book of verse, Cypher Key (published by AuthorHouse), emerging poet Artice Upchurch explores a theme of spirituality, telling readers, "No one is better than the next - we are only different parts of the whole."

He says that each of the poems is directed toward the self, which promotes understanding of universal principles. Upchurch's esoteric prose questions readers' positions on life and politics through lyrical language, though the author says passing judgment is not his intention. In his poem "Victory", Upchurch writes:

Conquered goals and helping others by one's purpose achieved
Many blessings upon you and for you to have received
Working on bettering self stepping towards the righteous path
Perfecting the soul through the self made wrath
Came to love one's self and everything that represents it
Some find the repair kit and others stay in the pit
Here to obtain peace and accumulate
Love to help others and demonstrate
The path and show that hope exist
For the reason to help you persist
Problems made for character building
Pushing you towards something
A divine being creating their story
Of how they obtained their Victory.

The author says he hopes his books encourage those "who try to find themselves in a world that seems to be closing down, fearfully dark and terribly lonely." He adds, "There is still light, I want to remind you, there is still some connection between language, love and the light - however hidden - that is in you and in all of us. But you need to know that the world we share is not the way it looks. There is the mystery of the hidden light behind the big picture. And, of course, the creator is in us all. We must be still and be willing to listen and more than willing to change."
