Maria Place is a 40-year-old woman living in suburban Dublin, Ireland, at a time of tremendous regeneration in the not-so-privileged town of Ballymun. Three years previous she was also going through great personal change and feeling numbed by both the events in her community and the tragedies in her family life. On the advice of a friend and art therapist, she started to record her dreams with words and imagery. The result is 18 months of dream work and interpretations, some of which are captured in this record. 16 separate dream pieces are beautifully depicted and honestly represented in these pages, describing a powerful journey into the unconscious, the healing of suppressed events and emotions, the letting go of personal hangups and the awakening of a new era in her life.
