Run Like the Wind sweeps across the United States from Philadelphia to California, from the bluegrass of Kentucky to the glamorous race track at Saratoga and along the Triple Crown trail. Madeleine Ashton is a lovely blonde who does not perceive how beautiful she is even when Matt Donovan, a world-famous ex-Yankee slugger, invades her life. She is content working at an art gallery until her father has a heart attack. She is forced to return to her roots her family's thoroughbred breeding farm in Kentucky. The story follows the miraculous foaling of a black, giant of a horse called Spiderman, through the highs and lows of his racing career, and onto the Kentucky Derby. Along the way, secrets are revealed as Madeleine encounters a love she never believed was possible and promises of a life beyond fulfillment. All she has to do is face her fears and believe in herself as much as she does in her black stallion.
