It is 1883, and a young ex-New York City police officer-turned Methodist minister comes to a church in Leeds, a rural upstate New York village in the shadow of the Catskill Mountains. Almost immediately, he becomes caught up in an old man's bitter plot for vengeance for a long-ago lost opportunity. With his past haunting him and finally catching up to him, he becomes a target and his life is on the line. The action intensifies as he and a young woman he just met work to unravel the plot before it, and they, can be executed.
