The Fallen Ones, a group of satanic worshippers who invoke spells and raise demons to attack Carl, are the adversaries. Controlled and possessed by Satan and his legion of demons, they would stop at nothing to control the sword's power. The battle rages in the heart of Sunny Slope, Arizona. Many innocent lives are taken. Carl becomes hunted by the law as well as the Fallen Ones. He is betrayed by the woman he believes loves him and comes close to death several times.
