Cancer survivor stories make headlines. Unfortunately, most fourth stage lung cancer patients are forced to think in terms of months, not years, before they die. Moving on into Morning tells the story of our hope, frustration, and despair during the eighteen months preceding my wife?s death from lung cancer. Seventy-four of her poems, forty of her illustrations, and my narrative tell a story shared by millions of families throughout the world who have watched the departure of a loved one with a terminal illness. There are some miracles, but there are very few headlines. Elsie has left us, but she has taken us to places we may never know.
