The Green Zone Larry Skeete
The Green Zone
Larry Skeete
After years of calm, a wave of bombings strikes the United States. The first incident involves American Airlines flight 395 landing in Chicago; all 450 people aboard are killed, including pilot and former Air Force Lieutenant Colonel John Farnum. The second bombing, which targets a train running out of Washington, D. C., takes the life of retired four-star General Richard Maldonado. Neil Burke, a senior anti-terror investigator at the Department of Homeland Security, is the first to notice that these random bombings are not so random. He suspects a decapitation strike aimed at the top civilian and military leaders of the country. What Burke doesn't know is that Marwan Barghouti, a legendary Hezbollah assassin sent from Syria, has been turned loose in the United States and given the green light to cause carnage. During a five-day period, Barghouti flawlessly executes a series of assassinations-each one more daring than the one before it. As Burke and his team of operatives get close to solving the case, Barghouti executes one final and fatal act.
