Will Black believed that he had everything under control. The benefit was well-attended, bringing in some much needed funding for the annual Group Show at the Phoenix Gallery; his position as Studio Manager seemed secure. His ceramic work had never been better and his girlfriend, Valerie Tripp, was conveniently positioned under his thumb leaving him free to explore other relationships among the artists of the Studio. But, that was before the writer, Roger Falk, stumbled into the party disrupting all of his well-laid plans. Tiger Lilies is the story of Valerie Tripp, a young painter searching for her vision, and Roger Falk, a critically acclaimed writer who has lost his voice. Their meeting at a picnic to benefit the local art community sparks an unlikely relationship that brings them closer as they discover their ability to express themselves. Set in a southeastern Massachusetts art gallery, the story follows the members of an artistic collaborative, the Phoenix Group, where artists and craftspeople work together as well as compete as they prepare for their annual juried Group Show.
