Dedicated real estate agent and single mother Elaine McKenzie has just been handed the reins for a project that she hopes will transform the funky mountain town of Devils Creek, California, into a world-class ski resort. Orthopedic surgeon Hart Cameron has just been relieved of his roles as father and husband following the death of his teenage son and his subsequent divorce. After his drinking escalates to a dangerous level, Hart returns home to Devils Creek and takes a job as a ski patroller in an attempt to piece his life back together again. After a chance meeting at the post office, fate continues to bring Hart and Elaine together-building a chemistry that neither one is strong enough to fight. But Elaine is about to discover what Hart has already unfortunately learned-we're all just one bad fall away from losing everything.
