Imagine traveling in your own car or truck at 400 mph with the vehicle's motor turned off. You are taking a nap, reading a book, or watching TV. The HEVER system will transport you in your personal vehicle treating the vehicle as freight. It will use an Elctromagnetic form of propulsion. Electromagnetic propulsion uses electro-magnets to levitate and hold vehicles in place from about a half inch to almost four inches above the plane on which the vehicles travel. Today's trains make intermediate stops at stations to pick up and drop off travelers and freight. Using vehicles on this new system means no intermediate loading and unloading of freight or your belongings. Your own automobile can travel nonstop from your home to your final destination. You won't have intermediate stops and you won't need to trust your personal luggage to any service; it will travel with you in your automobile from the start of your trip all the way to your destination. On long trips travelers can sleep, watch TV or play cards. This endeavor will provide jobs in technology, engineering, project management, construction, and will help many second tier companies that will benefit by providing services and materials for construction and operation of HEVER system. Workers in the USA can do most of the work. From 1993 to 2007 over 660,000 people died in traffic accidents; 44 million people sustained injury. The HEVER system will virtually eliminate deaths and injury due to highway accidents. We use over 20 million barrels of oil daily. Gas wastage by congestion and personal driving for automobiles and trucks exceeds four billion gallons annually. Commercial moving of freight can, by itself, justify the HEVER roadway; however the greatest benefit will result in the safe and hi-speed movement of people.
