A real life story about Sandra, a young ambitious girl, filled with the dream and ardour to be successful. She grows up being encouraged by her alcoholic father, who understands the value of education. She is determined to please him as he promises to support her to go all the way with her education. However, all her hopes and dreams are shattered when her father suddenly goes back on his word and she suspects her step mother might have played a part. She is left with no choice but to find a job, and when her father resigns from work he makes it clear she has to take on some of the responsibilities in the family. Sandra takes all this in her stride. For a while life seems enjoyable when she falls in love with Steven but it doesn't last. He breaks her heart. Later, she meets and marries Maxwell. It's not love at first sight for Sandra but she soon discovers he is 'Mr Right' after all. At last Sandra's life seems fulfilled as her husband encourages her to follow her dream of getting herself a college education. Little does she realise that tragedy is around the corner. The sequence of events are such that Sandra finds herself dealing with grief, depression and rejection among other things. Life proves to be a battleground as she struggles to make the most of what life has thrown at her doorstep. One thing is certain in all of this; Sandra's life is one that is full of uncertainty. It is a life being steered towards a different direction from the one she had in mind right from the beginning. Will Sandra ever find peace, happiness and achieve her dreams? Only time will tell.
