Paper Plates and Plastic Forks: Cooking for College Students
Aiden a Bowman
From the 2009-2010 Editors-in-Chief of The Huguenot Herald comes a cookbook unlike any other: a cookbook designed by teenagers for teenagers. "Paper Plates and Plastic Forks: Cooking for College Kids" is a cookbook of 20 easy recipes which consist of ingredients commonly accessible to college students. Through conducting field research at several colleges including Columbia University, Vassar College, and George Washington University, we were able to compose a book of recipes that are easily manageable using the cooking facilities at the average college, whether you're Ivy League, small liberal arts, urban, or rural. The cookbook is comprised of three parts: "Easier Than Pie," which is what we believe to be the 5 most basic recipes that every student needs to survive, "The Next Step," which includes 10 delicious and easy recipes for all three meals, and "Final Touches," which highlights 5 snack and dessert recipes.
