Bick Sims was alone that day, on the sidewalk by the hospital. Sheena had simply left him standing there, holding her baby girl?got into a cab where her boyfriend was waiting, and drove away. Bick wondered about that as he looked at the newborn. She was beautiful and love entered in. He was so moved; he took her home to his bachelor?s pad.

Months later, after some interesting time passes by, he begins to understand that he has developed new gifts and slowly comes to understand. Throughout most of the book Bick realizes he has been equipped to raise the little one; the mystery however, remains with only hints of why. But with the help of his friends and falling in love, he hangs in there and molds a new life with a baby girl, who becomes the love of his life.

Along with action sequences and suspense, the story moves along at a satisfying pace and weaves in plenty of humor. There are other characters constantly moving into the story, sub plots that promise of exciting times yet to come, when new and interesting people begin to draw closer while new relationships blossom. At the heart of it all, is a man and his little girl.
