Big Feet, the Story Mike Rubel
Big Feet, the Story
Mike Rubel
"Big Feet, the Story" is a tale of hardship, friendship, and perseverance in spite of one's differences. The story is told through the eyes of Guruto, a young Giraffe, who was born with exceptionally large feet; SO large, in fact, that he is banished from his herd for being unlike the others. Guruto's struggles after leaving the herd are made easier by the unusual companionship of a kingfisher bird. Together, the two of them overcome many obstacles and form a fast, if not wholly unlikely, friendship. Guruto and his feathery friend face adventure and strife together, growing with every challenge. The story concludes with Guruto's triumphant return to his herd. This tale charmingly melds a story of friendship and adventure with accurate educational information regarding some of the animals found in Sub Sahara Africa and thus is ideally suited for children ages 10 and under who are interested in learning more about African animals.
