On the Tel Aviv seashore, a fierce love and a profound attachment comes into life between Noya, a divorced scriptwriter and Yonatan Paran, a married, very attractive, successful lawyer. As their love flares up away from home, in Eilat, Spain and Paris, nothing yet hints at the terrible destructiveness that lies ahead. The first alarming signs are brushed away by Noya who calls them 'misunderstandings' and manages to forget them as soon as they pass. She is too happy to believe that anything can threaten their so deep and intense relationship. But the seeds of Yonatan's sick jealousy keep growing and feed on everything she says or does. Little does she know, that by trying to prove the absurdity of his accusations she only spurs him on to find new and more dramatic and bizarre fantasies to feed his madness. As the volume of his accusations grows so deos the vehemence of her reactions deepen until she is at the point of losing her own mind. This is when she decides to write this book. The story is told against the background of Israel's wars which are an integral part of the lives of all Israelis, and are too often the trigger for the flare up of personal distress.
