After graduating from Franklin & Marshall College she moved to Manhattan and began her career in the financial services industry. In 1995, she founded Durlester Consulting Inc., an executive search practice. While working as a headhunter by day and writer by night she published her first book, Beyond the Pink Moon, A Memoir of Legacy, Loss and Survival. Recently retired from her day job, Nicki and dear friend, Melissa Johnson Voight, moderate the Beyond the Pink Moon Facebook group, a global support group for previvors, survivors and people whose lives have been touched by breast and ovarian cancer.
