The World or the Word

Publisher Marketing: It should not take anything more than hearing what people say or watching what they do to figure out that there are some people who are not walking in the ways of the Word of God. Some of those people are members of other religions or do not follow any religion at all; others claim that they are Christians. It is the latter group of people who are being confused by what other people are telling them. The ways of the world are invading the lives of Christians and, unfortunately, the organized church. While these Christians complain about slowly losing their religious freedom, they do not even realize they are voluntarily giving in to the world by living by the ways of the world. Laying aside the usual debates about specific denominational doctrines and practices, The World or the Word presents the problem all Christians face today. The major problem for Christians and the church is the invasion of the world into Christianity. The information provided will help Christians distinguish between the ways of the world and the ways of the Word. It will guide Christians back to living their lives as commanded by Christ and learn how to defend themselves from the attacks upon God's truth. By the end of the book, Christians should be able to answer the questions "Who will you serve? Will you serve the world or will you serve Christ?" Contributor Bio: Myers, Sheila Rae Sheila Rae Myers became interested in writing while in college. She was most inspired by L. A. Smith who teaches her students to write about what interests them the most. Through the following years, one attempt at writing a novel after another failed as the characters lost their believability or the plot line failed after a few chapters. Inspiration came in the form of what Sheila felt was a plot line in a television crime drama which left her asking questions about what was happening behind the scenes after a terrible tragedy. The only answer she received came in the form of a short story she wrote. Detective Jake: The Search for Truth grew from a short story into a novel. The idea for one novel grew into ideas for an on-going series. Although is new name and face among the ranks of Christian fiction. Although she has no formal education or training as a writer, her first novel is a big hit among those who have bought and read the book. Common comments include "If you didn't tell me, I would've never known this was your first book" and "You've developed characters and plots that make me want to keep reading." Such reviews oppose what she had been told by agents, book review agencies for new authors, and published novelists. When asked about the negative comments, her reply is "I'll let the readers decide whether or not I can be classified as a successful author. They're the ones buying and reading the books." Her hope is that everyone who reads her novels finds something positive and enjoyable.
