Connor is your typical middle-school kid. He surfs with his best friend, Wade; he enjoys riding his bike and exploring; he does well in school. This year, however, has brought one problem: he's been targeted by the school thug, Zack, for constant intimidation and beatings. Connor is powerless to stop the intimidation, but he's never been one to back down from a fight. Though his mouth gets him into more trouble (and invites more beatings) he won't just roll over without a fight. Determination alone, however, isn't enough to defend himself and it seems he is doomed for the rest of his school days to be subjected to Zack's campaign of terror. Or maybe not. Enter Nick, the new kid. Nick is tiny, scrawny, and a magnet for bullies. He has a secret, however: he is skilled in the martial art of Jeet Kune Do, and was trained by his father, who was trained by Bruce Lee himself, the founder of Jeet Kune Do. A tale of friendship, determination, and hard lessons learned "Tales of a Teenage Ninja" is a great Young Adult novel.
