The Aeronaut

THE AERONAUT is a sweeping epic story of one man's love of flying and the trials he faced both in the air and in his personal life. George Mueller graduated from West Point in 1924 and entered the world of army aviation with a bright career ahead of him. An early incident soon taught him about the dangers of early flight and the responsibilities of military command. Later both a failed love affair and a serious accident temporarily ended his military service. His faith in God restores his determination to continue flying and improve himself; he returns to college for an aeronautical engineering degree. At this time, he meets the woman he would fall deeply in love with and marry, just as WWII calls him back to service. He soon finds himself involved in a secret project that puts him in harm's way even before the USA enters the war. After war is declared, he seeks a combat assignment, but is tasked to the army air force engineering group. It is here that he finds himself involved in a project of great importance to the United States to counter German ascendency in jet aircraft. Despite the untimely death of his wife, he presses on to accomplish a difficult task and finally gets a chance at combat - with an interesting adversary. During this period, he also rediscovers his first love, who has also experienced a difficult marriage. The ending of THE AERONAUT will excite and inspire the reader.
