On the Street Where I Lived: Autobiography of a Child
Roberta Weiner Markbreit
Roberta Weiner Markbreit cherishes her growing-up years on Aldine Avenue in Chicago. Walks with her father near the lake and journeys with her mother on buses and streetcars are sacred, even today.
Roberta Markbreit has produced and hosted a public access interview series for twenty-one years because since childhood she has found people's histories fascinating. She also produces, in the same venue, a weekly sports talk show.
She taught high school English for eight years and was a reporter and columnist for a local newspaper and an assistant editor for another. Roberta Markbreit's love of animals has never wavered, as she and her husband, Jerry, have nurtured too many cats to count and one wonderful dog, Lady.
Roberta and Jerry Markbreit have lived in the same house for forty-eight years, never imagining that their first house would be a part of them forever.
