All I thought about was Trevor, his locket hanging like a one ton brick from my neck. The cold heavy locket touching my chest reminding me of the many moments I had shared with him. Moving to Gresham had doomed me, and now the one person whom I thought would make this easier for me, by being by my side had left me alone as well. Life was an unfair coldhearted stepmother, and I the stepchild. It was never fair or just or easy on me, and now it had taken the one thing that still reminded me of my normal years.
