This book addresses "Bullying." A community of animals lives in the mountains where they enjoy peace and quiet in a calm and enjoyable village. However, the recent antics of three badger brothers disrupt the atmosphere for others. Community members try to ignore the problem out of fear of facing the brothers and asking for their cooperation. When a colorful family of bunnies, the Peri Winkles, show up in the community, they want the badger brothers to change their ways. In "The Peri Winkle Four and the Badger Brothers," a group of different animals work together for the good of the community when some in the forest start creating problems by bullying others. The author teaches young readers that bullying is not acceptable, and that it is possible to set aside differences while working toward common goals. Diversity, acceptance and tolerance are presented for young readers as a standard for good character and positive relationships; and also a reminder for adults responsible for guiding these young minds as they prepare to become our future citizens of the world. The characters are vivid and enjoyable, providing important answers to critical issues surrounding our relationship with one another.
