The idea for this book occurred to me a few years ago at a Thanksgiving dinner with my family. I remember at one point someone asked my grandson Sebastian, who was five years old at the time, what he was thankful for and his immediate response was "Elephants!". I wrote the text and had just begun the drawings when my seven year old granddaughter Sofia asked if she could help, and of course I included some of her beautiful drawings in the book. My seventeen year old grandson Diego also contributed to the artwork.
