I have experienced the distance between a child and a close loved one. Not all people have access to a computer or telephone, this book allows for bonding between them, a child colors the picture and writes a story about it, it is then mailed to the Pen-Pal to color the next page and continue the started story and send it back to the first Pen-pal. The end is a bonding communication which changes the adult coming home to a child hiding behind a parent to a child running to throw arms around Grandpa, Grandma, Father, Mother etc. I may be a little old fashioned as I live in the Ozark hills of Missouri, but I still see the light and smiles of a child when he/she receives their own personal mail, I also see the light in a soldiers heart when he/she receives a communication from his favorite child. This book filled with love is a precious "Keepsake".
