A young doctor suffers from dissociative amnesia caused by a traumatic event and is forced to take on a random identity. He carries a name completely foreign to him through sad and happy times for many years, continually haunted by a picture in his possession of a young woman and a little boy, both of whom are completely unfamiliar to him. He lives for twenty years with the burden of not knowing if his past and true identity will ever be restored.
