It is 1979 and sixteen year old Jennifer bunks off school each day and goes to dance class in London. Still eager for adventure and discovery, Jennifer travels around Argentina - the land at the bottom of the world, finding a variety of affairs in Patagonia, Iguazu, Carnival. When she eventually arrives in Salta, in the far-off foothills of the Andes, she meets Vicente and begins an affair that redefines everything she thought she knew about love. Last Tango in Buenos Aires is an exploration of the collision of love between foreign cultures as well as the difficulty in women's relationships when there are men to play for.
