Swords and Sorcery: Dragonriders of Telamarna

Michael, a college student, is transported to a magical land and encounters Princess Amara and her dragon. She is trying to get help to save her kingdom. Together, they are forced to overthrow the evil sorcerer, Nekros, who tests their skills in magic and stamina. Michael receives a jewel-encrusted magic sword as a birthday gift. In reading the inscription on the blade, he is transported to a land of magic in another dimension, where people ride dragons, gargoyles come to life, and people can be turned to stone. Princess Amara, escaping on her blue dragon, is pursued by lizard men called Tetrons. She calls for the spirit lords to send her a god or a warrior to protect her. Michael suddenly appears, but he isn't a warrior, or a god. Amara looks to the sky and asks, "In my hour of need, you sent me a coward." Michael is not suited for this world, and when he realizes he can't save the kingdom and is inept in all he does, he just wants to go home. They both are forced to overcome the evil sorcery that tests their skills in magic and stamina. That is, until Princess Amara is captured by demons sent by the evil sorcerer, Nekros. Then Michael must master swordplay, overcome his fears, and find his innate ability to use magic. He scales the heights of Nekros's castle, slays a giant Tetron, outwits a giant scorpion, defeats a fire monster, and battles Nekros to gain Amara's freedom and love.
